Why direct-vent wins in the new subdivisions
Builder-grade decorative boxes rarely throw much heat, so owners want a real heater. A vent-free unit is efficient, but it carries rules — room-size Btu caps, added humidity, an ODS shutoff, and no bedrooms — and at this elevation the rich-burn odor is easier to catch.
