Long runs on rural lots

The farmland-and-forest spread around Horse Shoe, Etowah, and the Mills River valley means gas often travels a good distance from a propane tank to the house — and every foot of that run costs pressure. An existing line that comfortably fed a furnace can come up short when a fireplace is added at the end of a long lateral, so we calculate the drop before we trust it.

We also look hard at buried and outdoor-rated sections, where wet ground works on the pipe over the years, and confirm the regulator is still holding.

Built for outdoor living, too

This open valley is made for outdoor fire, and a lot of Mills River projects extend gas to a patio fire pit or an outdoor fireplace. Reusing a sound existing line as the starting point is often economical, but any outdoor extension has to be buried, outdoor-rated, and sized for the added demand. Plan those in late spring, before entertaining season.

Where the old pipe checks out, we build on it. Where it doesn't, we replace only what the test flags.
