Two heating worlds, two credentials

Ask which credential a technician actually holds, because a gas-appliance card and a chimney-sweep card are not interchangeable, and this town needs both. Propane and the license line
For the rural propane homes, remember that propane runs hotter and at different pressures than natural gas, so the setup is specialized — and the connection is licensed work in North Carolina regardless of how remote the property is. NFI certification proves competence on the appliance; the gas contractor's license proves legal authority to connect the fuel. That's the whole reason a showroom or mason can sell a firebox but can't legally make it burn. We do that part and permit it.
What to require in a colder spot
