But if this is the permanent heart of your entertaining space, consider a plumbed line: buried, outdoor-rated, run to a quick-connect, so you never do the mid-party tank swap again. Natural gas works along the Asheville and Hendersonville mains; propane country — Fairview, Candler, Brevard, and the cabins — plumbs from the house tank instead. Either way, that line is licensed gas work in North Carolina. We run it, permit it with the county, and pressure-test it.
Placement notes before you commit
Think through clearances from the house, railings, and anything overhead; wind exposure if you're on a ridgetop; and what surface the table sits on.
