Many Backgrounds. One Standard.

Who installs the chimney and venting — the fireplace dealer or a separate contractor?

We do both. When Steady Flame installs your fireplace, the same crew handles the venting or chimney — direct-vent pipe, a Class A chimney for wood, or a liner for an insert. You're not stitching together a showroom, a mason, and a separate vent installer. One licensed company owns the appliance, the venting, the permit, and the result.

One crew, start to finish

When we install your fireplace, we install its venting too — it's the same job, done by the same crew, on the same permit. You're not the general contractor stitching a showroom to a mason to a separate vent installer and hoping the pieces line up. Steady Flame owns the appliance, the venting or chimney, the gas line, and the inspection. That single-source accountability is the whole point: one company answers for whether it drafts, seals, and burns right.

Venting looks different by fuel

What "venting" means depends on what you're burning. A direct-vent gas fireplace uses a sealed coaxial pipe that runs out a sidewall or up through the roof — no chimney required, which is why it's the go-to for adding a fireplace to a room that never had one. A wood-burning fireplace needs a Class A insulated chimney. An insert dropped into an existing masonry fireplace needs a correctly sized stainless liner. We size and install all three.

Why splitting the job backfires

When the fireplace and the venting come from different hands, the seams are where problems hide — a termination too close to a soffit, a liner a size off, a vent brand that doesn't match the appliance. At WNC elevation, with ridges and tall trees causing downdrafts, venting has even less margin for error than it does in the flatlands. One crew that plans the appliance and its vent together sidesteps all of it. Call (828) 545-0525.
