Why is my fireplace damper stuck open or closed?
In Fairview, creosote is the damper's worst enemy — the wooded rural lots make wood heat the natural choice, and all that wood-burning glazes the throat-damper hinge with sticky creosote until the plate won't move. A sealed direct-vent propane unit avoids it entirely, and gives you power-optional backup heat for the next time the grid goes down.
