Can I build my own gas fire pit or should a professional install it?

In Weaverville, you or your builder can lay up the fire pit enclosure, but the fuel side is licensed work we handle. With so much new construction going up in Reems Creek, the smartest move is to loop us in during the build — while trenches are open and the patio isn't poured — so we can rough in the natural-gas line, set the burner, and permit it with Buncombe County.

New builds make sequencing easy

Weaverville is growing fast, and the wave of new construction in Reems Creek and around town is actually the ideal moment to add an outdoor fire feature. On a fresh build, the gas line to a patio fire pit can be roughed in while the ground is already open and the hardscaping is still on paper — no cutting into a finished patio later, no retrofitting a line into a sealed enclosure the hard way.

Your builder or hardscaper handles the shell: the block, the pad, the stone veneer. We handle the fire: sizing and setting the listed burner, running and connecting the natural-gas line, building in the vents and drainage the enclosure needs, and pressure-testing it. Coordinate early and the whole thing folds neatly into the project.

Older downtown homes, same split

If you're not building new — say you're in one of the older downtown homes with an original masonry firebox — the division of labor is the same, it just takes a little more planning to route the line to the backyard. Either way, the fuel work is ours by law: in North Carolina, connecting or extending a gas line is reserved for a licensed contractor, and we permit every line with Buncombe County and meet the inspector.

Weaverville's north-facing valley is slow to warm in spring, which keeps outdoor-fire evenings in play well past the calendar's idea of winter. We're about 15 minutes north of the showroom. Call (828) 545-0525 before you break ground.
