The fire and water systems stay separate: we handle the licensed gas side of the flame, your water feature/hardscaper handles the pump and plumbing, and we coordinate so they read as one design.

A combined fire-and-water feature is absolutely doable, and it's some of the most striking work we get to be part of — a fire bowl with water sheeting off its edge, flame rising from a basin with a spillway alongside, or a fire feature set into a larger water wall. The drama of live flame against moving water is hard to beat on a cool mountain evening. The key thing to understand up front is that fire and water are two separate systems that only look like one when they're done well.
Two trades, one design
The flame side is our lane and no one else's — the gas feature, the burner, the licensed and permitted gas line, the pressure test, the inspection. The water side — the basin, pump, plumbing, and drainage — belongs to your water-feature specialist or hardscaper, the same way we coordinate on outdoor kitchens where the counters are the builder's and the gas is ours. What makes it read as one polished feature rather than two things bolted together is the two trades coordinating from the start, and we're used to working right alongside them.

A little planning up front keeps it clean: we route and conceal the gas line, keep the electrical for the pump and the gas controls sensibly separated, account for wind so the flame stays lit near moving water, and make sure both systems drain and shut down properly for winter.
