Can I still get parts for an old or discontinued fireplace model?
Weaverville splits two ways. In the new Reems Creek construction, fireplaces are recent enough that parts are fully current. In the older downtown homes with original masonry fireboxes, it's the retrofit units and inserts we're sourcing for — and their control parts usually still turn up, even when the model-specific glass and logs have moved on.
Reems Creek new-builds vs. downtown originals
Weaverville's rapid growth out toward Reems Creek means a lot of fireplaces here are only a few years old — if one's already discontinued, the manufacturer almost certainly still stocks every part. Downtown is the other story: older homes with inefficient original masonry fireboxes, often fitted with a gas insert somewhere along the way. For those, we chase the insert's parts — a thermopile, an igniter, a blower — and those cross-reference dependably across brands and years.
What eventually goes missing
No matter the vintage, the first parts to disappear are the ones made for a single model: the exact glass, the shaped log set, the molded refractory. Older prefab fireboxes are the ones with a real expiration date — they don't last forever, and once the box itself or its unavailable panels fail, hunting for parts stops making sense. We'll tell you when you've reached that line rather than sell you a part that props up a dying box.
