Can you add a fireplace to a house that has no gas service?

When there's no room to route a chimney up a hillside home, a sealed direct-vent unit vents straight out a sidewall — no chimney needed. Direct-vent solves the tight-lot problem
Marshall's homes cling to steep hillsides, and its revitalized downtown buildings stand narrow and multi-story right against the mountainside — which makes running a traditional chimney difficult and draft unpredictable, since ridges and tight lots throw downdrafts. That's exactly where a direct-vent gas fireplace shines: sealed combustion, a short coaxial pipe out the sidewall, and no chimney to route up a slope or fight for draft. It drops into a room that never had a hearth, works in a tight downtown unit, and vents cleanly regardless of the terrain around it. For a lot of Marshall properties, it's simply the right tool.
Fuel where the main doesn't run
Much of Marshall and the coves around it have no natural-gas main, so propane is the common path — a tank on the property feeds the appliance, and we handle the regulator, piping, and LP conversion, coordinating the tank with your supplier. Steep access can complicate where a tank goes, and we work that out on the site visit. If you'd rather skip fuel-gas, a wood stove needs no line at all and gives you grid-independent heat.
