How do I get my fireplace ready for fall and winter?

Fletcher runs on natural gas, and between the 1990s subdivisions and the commercial properties along the I-26 corridor, fall prep here often means both homes and businesses. For any gas work we pull the Henderson County permit and pressure-test the line; the seasonal to-do is a service, fresh ignition batteries, clean glass, and a test burn before the first cold week.

Builder-grade units, a few decades on

Fletcher's 1990s subdivisions came with builder-grade gas fireplaces, and a lot of them are now old enough that a fall service is more than a formality — a summer of idle time clogs the pilot and burner with spiders and dust, and gaskets and igniters wear. Wipe the glass, dust the logs, swap fresh batteries into the remote and the battery-backup ignition, and run a test burn. If a unit never really heated the room, ask about a sealed insert that commonly runs 70% efficient or better.

Businesses need the same pre-season check

The I-26 corridor around the airport brings steady commercial demand — offices, retail, and hospitality with gas fireplaces and outdoor features that also have to be ready before the cold. We service all major hearth brands, and a business's units need the same routine: cleaned, tested, batteries fresh, outdoor gas lines checked. A fireplace that won't light in a lobby is as much a problem as one in a living room.

Henderson permit, and timing

Fletcher is on natural-gas mains, and any line we run or extend is licensed work — we pull the Henderson County permit, pressure-test the connection, and meet the inspector, which a showroom or mason legally can't do. We're 20 minutes south of the Asheville showroom. Book late summer or early fall, before the first cold week fills the schedule, and call (828) 545-0525.
