How much does firewood cost per cord, and how many cords do you burn in a winter?
Clyde's older 1960s-to-80s ranch homes mostly have dated fireplaces that are prime candidates for an insert, and at 2,612 feet, sharing Canton and Waynesville's cold-air drainage, this is a high-cord town. A dated firebox is a leaky one

Damp air is slow to season a pile and hard on a chimney, a bad combination for a town that burns as much as this one.
