How much does it cost to install a gas fire pit?
Brevard is propane country — most fire pits out here feed from a tank behind the house rather than a gas main — so your cost folds in the regulator, the buried outdoor-rated line, and coordination with your propane supplier on the tank. Propane, and Planning for the Rain
Transylvania sees 80-plus inches of rain a year, with a wet stretch from March through June, so drainage under the pit matters as much as the burner. We set the pan and components so they aren't sitting in standing water, and we lean on stainless where corrosion would otherwise take hold.
Downtown lots and mountain cabins get different treatment — a compact pit for a tight village yard, a larger stone-set feature for a cabin's open ground — but both start with a tank feed rather than a meter here.
Transylvania County Permit, Licensed Line
We pull the permit with Transylvania County and pressure-test the line before anything is buried. A hardscaper can lay the stone enclosure beautifully, but in North Carolina they legally can't connect it to fuel — running and extending a propane line is licensed work, and that's our lane and no one else's.
