How much does it cost to run a gas fireplace per hour?
In Brevard you're mostly in propane country, and propane changes the per-hour answer: it's billed per gallon by your supplier, not per therm by a utility, and it costs more per BTU than natural gas. A decorative vented log set throws a tall, realistic flame but sends most of its heat up the chimney — lovely, but an expensive way to warm a room on propane.
