How much does it cost to run a gas line to a fireplace?
Around Brevard you're mostly in propane country — the natural-gas mains don't reach much of Transylvania County — so a fireplace gas line here usually runs from your propane tank, not a street meter. That means the price includes the regulator and pressure-sizing off the tank, plus the distance and access from tank to firebox. We price the actual run in person, not over the phone.
Propane changes the whole job
Fed from a tank instead of a main, a Brevard gas line is a slightly different animal: we set or verify the regulator, size the pipe for propane's pressure and the tank's location, and match the appliance's orifices to LP so it burns clean instead of sooty. Where the tank sits relative to the fireplace — same wall, across the house, or out by a cabin's far corner — drives the footage and the labor. The tank itself is coordinated with your propane supplier; the piping and appliance side are our licensed work.
Wet ground, crawlspaces, and cabins
Brevard takes 80-plus inches of rain a year, and it shows in the crawlspaces and chimney chases we work through — damp, sometimes tight, occasionally moisture-damaged. That access is part of the price, and it's why an outdoor-rated line to a patio, or a run into an older downtown or Connestee Falls cabin, gets bid on what we actually see rather than a phone estimate. Every line is permitted through Transylvania County, pressure-tested, and inspected.
A firm number from a real walk-through
The route is the price, so we won't guess it over the phone. We're about 40 minutes southwest of the Asheville showroom, and the free in-home assessment traces tank to hearth — and any masonry in between — before handing you a firm quote with the permit built in. If a gas range or an outdoor kitchen might follow, mention it so we size the tank line once for everything. Call (828) 545-0525.
