Is the warranty different if I buy a fireplace online instead of from a dealer?
The written terms are usually the same, but how well they hold up isn't. Buy online and you're the installer of record with no dealer to register the unit, document the install, or file claims for you — and some manufacturers limit or void coverage on units sold outside their authorized dealer network. Bought from and installed by an authorized dealer, you have a local advocate. We sell through our showroom and install — never online.
Same paper, different reality
On paper, a manufacturer's warranty reads the same regardless of where the box came from. In practice, a warranty is only as good as your ability to use it — and that's where an online purchase leaves you exposed.
There's no installing dealer who registered the serial number, no documented professional install, and no one but you to diagnose a fault and argue it's a covered defect. When something fails, the whole claim lands on you.
The authorized-dealer clause people miss
Some hearth brands go further and restrict warranty coverage to units sold through their authorized dealers, treating third-party or gray-market sales as voided or reduced. It's in the fine print, and it's easy to miss when a price looks good.
The brands we're authorized for — Napoleon, Heat & Glo, and Regency — are sold and installed by us as an authorized dealer, so that coverage is intact and we're the ones standing behind it.
What buying it installed actually buys you
When one licensed company sells, installs, registers, and later services your fireplace, the warranty stops being a document you hope works and becomes a phone call to people who know your unit. We handle claims, keep your records, and back our labor with a workmanship guarantee.
We don't sell online — our fireplaces are displayed in the Asheville showroom and professionally installed, precisely so the coverage means something when you need it. Come see them burning, or call (828) 545-0525.
