Whatever stove you choose, the chimney system decides whether you actually get its rated performance — draft runs harder at our elevations, and a cold flue sits in the chimney like a plug. A modern EPA stove wants a correctly sized, properly insulated flue, which might mean relining an existing masonry chimney or running new Class A pipe, plus honest clearances to combustibles and a permit with your county. We handle all of it and meet the inspector.
