What is a fire table?
A fire table is a gas fire pit built into table-height furniture — you get a coffee- or dining-height top with a flame down the center and a ledge around it for drinks and plates. It runs on natural gas or propane, lights at the push of a button, and works as real outdoor furniture the rest of the evening.
Furniture first, fire second
The whole appeal of a fire table is that it earns its footprint. A traditional fire pit is a single-purpose object; a fire table is a place people gather around, set a glass down, and eat. They come in two main heights — coffee-table height for lounge seating and counter or dining height for bar stools and chairs. The flame runs down a burner in the center, usually surrounded by lava rock or tumbled fire glass, with a wide ledge of stone, concrete, or metal framing it.
Fuel and how it lights
Fire tables run on natural gas or propane, and the fuel you have decides the setup. Along the Asheville and Hendersonville mains, we can hard-plumb one so it never runs out. Out in Fairview, Candler, Brevard, and the cabins, they run off a propane tank we connect and pressure-test — the tank itself coordinated with your propane supplier. Push-button or key-valve ignition means flame in seconds: no kindling, no smoke, no hauling wood. Napoleon's Uptown, a square gas unit in our lineup, shows the table format well in person.
Why they suit our evenings
WNC stays cool in the evenings most of the year, even in summer, so an outdoor fire feature genuinely earns its keep here in a way it might not somewhere flat and hot.
