Many Backgrounds. One Standard.

Regency makes the best wood stoves we install — the Cascades F1500 is EPA-certified, runs 78% efficient, puts out up to 55,000 BTU, and heats up to 1,500 square feet with no electricity at all. We also install and service Lopi, Jotul, HearthStone, and Quadra-Fire, all respected names — but Regency is where we start the conversation.

Regency, and why it leads

Regency builds wood stoves for people who treat wood heat as a heating system, not a decoration. The Cascades F1500 is our benchmark: EPA-certified, 78% efficient, up to 55,000 BTU, rated to heat up to 1,500 square feet — and it does all of that with zero electricity. That last part stopped being an abstraction after Helene, when homes across WNC went dark for days and the ones that stayed warm had a working wood or gas hearth. A stove like this is heat you own outright: no grid, no fuel deliveries, just the woodpile you stacked in September.

The other names worth knowing

Lopi, Jotul, HearthStone, and Quadra-Fire all build respected stoves, and we install and service all of them — if you've inherited one with a cabin outside Marshall or Burnsville, we can keep it running right. But when someone walks into the showroom starting from zero, Regency is where we start, because it's the wood-burning line we know deepest and carry on the floor. None of those brands is a wrong answer — the wrong answer is the undersized bargain stove that runs flat-out all winter and still can't hold a coal bed until morning. An EPA-certified stove sized to the actual space beats a bigger badge every time.

What a stove install involves in the mountains

A wood stove is only as good as its chimney and clearances. We run Class A chimney where there isn't one, honor the clearance-to-combustibles specs to the inch, and pull the permit with your county — Buncombe, Henderson, Haywood, or Transylvania — then meet the inspector. Draft is harder at elevation, and our ridges and tall trees cause downdrafts, so chimney height and placement get more thought here than they would in flat country. Most stove and chimney jobs run two to three days. Call (828) 545-0525 for a free in-home assessment, or come stand next to a burning F1500 at the Asheville showroom — the radiant heat makes the argument for us.
