Which fireplace brands have the best warranties?
Most premium gas brands we carry — Napoleon, Heat & Glo, Kozy Heat, Valor, Mendota, Regency, and others — back their fireboxes and major castings with a limited lifetime warranty, about as strong as it gets in hearth. Dimplex electric units carry a one-year full and five-year limited warranty on the flame. But every one of those warranties depends on a licensed, permitted install.
Lifetime on the parts that matter
Across the gas brands we carry, the headline coverage is a limited lifetime warranty on the firebox, heat exchanger, and major castings — the expensive structural parts. That's true of Napoleon, Heat & Glo, Kozy Heat, Valor, Mendota, Regency, Superior, Majestic, and Heatilator alike, which is why we don't push one 'best warranty' brand — the serious makers are all strong here. Dimplex, on the electric side, runs a one-year full warranty plus five years limited on the flame effect.
A warranty is only as good as the install
Here's the part the fine print makes plain: manufacturer warranties assume the unit was installed by a qualified, licensed professional to code, and DIY or unlicensed installation voids them. In North Carolina the gas connection is licensed work anyway — a showroom or handyman legally can't make it burn. Every fireplace we install comes backed by the manufacturer's warranty plus our own workmanship guarantee, and we pull the permit so the coverage actually holds.
Read what's actually covered
'Lifetime' usually applies to the castings; glass, gaskets, blowers, remotes, and electronics typically carry shorter terms, and many brands want the unit registered after purchase to activate full coverage. Wear-and-tear maintenance items aren't covered — that's what annual service is for. We'll walk you through your specific unit's terms so there are no surprises. Questions on coverage?
