Who handles warranty service on a fireplace — the dealer or the manufacturer?

The dealer or a qualified service tech does the actual work; the manufacturer stands behind the parts. Manufacturers almost never come to your house — they honor warranties by supplying covered parts to an authorized dealer or installer, who diagnoses the problem and does the labor. That's a big reason buying from a local dealer beats buying a box online.

Two parties, two different jobs

Think of it as a division of labor. The manufacturer stands behind the parts — if a covered component fails within the warranty period, they supply the replacement. The dealer or a qualified service technician does everything hands-on: diagnosing the fault, filing the claim, and doing the labor to install the part. The manufacturer essentially never sends someone to your living room.

This split matters because most manufacturer warranties cover the part itself, not the labor to diagnose and replace it — which is where the installer's own workmanship guarantee comes in. It's also why the fine print on any warranty is worth reading before you assume a repair will be free.

Why buying local changes the experience

When you buy and install through a local dealer, you're on record as the customer and we're on record as the installer — so if a covered part fails, one call gets it handled: we confirm the coverage, get the part, and make the visit.

Buy a unit shipped from an online seller and that chain breaks. You're left hunting for someone licensed to service a fireplace they didn't sell, and plenty of shops won't touch an online-bought unit at all. We service all major hearth brands, but the smoothest warranty experience is always one company that sold it, installed it, and stands behind it.

If we didn't install yours

We still take care of you. Whether your fireplace is under warranty or long past it, bring the model and serial and we'll diagnose it, quote the repair upfront before any work starts, and source the correct OEM or cross-referenced part. No-heat calls get priority in winter, and our line answers 24/7 for emergencies.

If it turns out the failed part is covered, we handle the manufacturer claim on your behalf so you're not on the phone chasing it. Warranty or not, most hearth repairs come down to an inexpensive part and quick labor. Call (828) 545-0525.
