Will my deck support the weight of a built-in fire pit or heavy fire table?
Maybe — check before you buy. A portable gas fire table is usually fine, but a masonry-built enclosure or a heavy concrete fire pit can concentrate hundreds of pounds in one spot, more than a standard deck is framed to carry. A built-in almost always needs reinforced framing or, better, a foundation set on the ground beside the deck.
Portable table versus built-in enclosure
Weight is the fork in the road here. A portable gas fire table spreads maybe a couple hundred pounds across four feet — most sound decks handle that without a thought. A built-in fire pit is a different animal: a masonry or paver enclosure, or a solid cast-concrete bowl, can run several hundred pounds concentrated over a small footprint.
Decks are engineered for a distributed live load, not a heavy point load parked in one place. That's the load your framing may not have been designed to carry, especially on an older or elevated deck.

Before anything gets built, the deck's framing, joist span, spacing, and footings deserve a real look, and for a heavy built-in that's a conversation with your deck builder or a structural pro.
More often than not, the cleaner answer is to set a built-in fire feature on its own foundation at grade — a proper pad or footing — right beside or in front of the deck, and reserve the deck surface for a portable table. You get the permanence without asking the deck to do a job it wasn't built for.
