Yes — outdoor gas log sets are built differently. They use outdoor-rated burners and stainless, weather-resistant components designed for open air, wind, moisture, and UV, and they're set up to burn to open sky rather than up a chimney. You can't just move an indoor vented log set outside; the materials and burner aren't made for that exposure.
Built for Weather, Not a Living Room
An indoor vented log set assumes a chimney and damper and lives in a climate-controlled room. Outdoor sets get rain, humidity, pollen, temperature swings, and mountain wind, so they use corrosion-resistant burners and hardware and are engineered to hold a flame in moving air.
Real Fyre and other makers build specific outdoor-rated sets for exactly this. Try to run an indoor set outdoors and you're inviting rust, clogged ports, and a flame that won't stay put on a breezy Asheville evening.
Fuel and Orifice Still Have to Match
Like any gas appliance, an outdoor log set has to be set up for your fuel — natural gas along the Asheville and Hendersonville mains, propane out in Fairview, Candler, Brevard, and the cabins.
Propane runs at a different pressure and needs its own orifice. A wrong-fuel setup soots the logs, dulls the flame, and wastes gas. We match the set to your fuel before it ever burns.
Where They Go
