Marshall's homes cling to steep mountainsides above the French Broad, and many sit on narrow, hard-to-reach lots. That's fine for a scheduled delivery, but a scramble when a tank runs empty and the truck has to squeeze up a tight drive on short notice — sometimes in winter weather.

A monitor takes the emergency out of it. By reading the level early and feeding your propane supplier real numbers, it lets a difficult delivery get planned in advance instead of improvised. For a second home reached only on weekends, that's the whole value.

Gorge air stays cool and damp

The French Broad gorge brings cool, damp evenings, and tight mountainside lots complicate chimney routing and draft — which is one more reason to get the appliance and venting chosen by someone who knows the terrain. A sealed direct-vent unit sidesteps a lot of draft trouble on these lots.

The monitor is your propane supplier's equipment: it clips to the gauge and reports over cellular so the tank effectively watches itself between your visits.
