Do I need to tell my propane company before adding a gas fireplace?
In Brevard, yes, this is propane country, so it applies to most homes here. Out toward the cabins and Connestee Falls, a leased propane tank is the norm, and adding a gas fireplace raises what that tank must deliver. Call your supplier first so they can confirm capacity before we run the line.

Brevard and the wooded properties around it — Sherwood Forest, Connestee Falls, the cabins up toward Pisgah — mostly run on propane rather than a natural-gas main. So unlike a gas-main town, nearly every fireplace we add in Transylvania County touches a supplier's tank. That makes the up-front call less a courtesy and more a step in the job: they own the tank, they set what connects to it, and they need to know you're adding an appliance that will pull fuel on the coldest, wettest nights of the year.
Rain, damp, and the tank-side gear
