How far out do fireplace installers usually book up?

Arden's signature job is the conversion — 1980s and 90s homes in Royal Pines and Skyland with tired open masonry fireplaces that pull heat straight out of the room, turned into sealed inserts that actually warm it. That work needs a liner, the Buncombe County permit, and an inspection, so it books further out than a simple swap. Summer's open; fall fills.

Conversions run on three steps, not one

So many Arden homes were built in the 1980s and 90s with open masonry fireplaces that lose more heat than they make — and the fix everyone wants is a sealed gas insert that turns that hole in the wall into a real heater. It's a great upgrade, but it's three coordinated pieces: a correctly sized liner, the county permit and inspector, and the insert itself. Each has its own timing, which is why a conversion in Skyland or Glenn Bridge isn't a same-week job the way a straight appliance swap can be.

Commercial adds to the mix

Arden also carries the Biltmore Park retail and office spaces, and commercial fireplace work books on construction and renovation schedules rather than the residential weather cycle — those projects reward planning months ahead and coordinating with the contractor. On natural gas throughout, at least there's no propane tank to line up here, which takes one link out of the chain whether the job is a Royal Pines living room or a Biltmore Park lobby. That still leaves the permit, the appliance, and our calendar to align.

The appliance and the season

Underneath it all, two clocks run: our install calendar, busiest from September on, and the unit's factory lead time. A stocked everyday model is quick; a special-order or linear unit sets the pace regardless of our openings. We quote both. And a no-heat failure jumps ahead on our 24/7 service, 15 minutes from your door. Call (828) 545-0525 for a free in-home assessment.
