How much does it cost to run a gas line to a patio or fire pit?
In Candler the cost depends first on fuel — newer Enka-Candler subdivisions may reach a gas main, but many Candler properties, especially on the larger lots toward Hominy Valley, run on propane, so the line starts at a tank. From there it's the distance, what the ground crosses, the BTU load, and the Buncombe County permit.
Gas or propane — it depends where you are
Candler is a genuine mix. Some of the newer subdivisions near the Enka-Candler corridor tie into a natural-gas main, so the run starts at the meter; out on the larger lots and toward the Pisgah Highway edge and Hominy Valley, propane is common, and then the line begins at your tank. On propane we confirm the tank and regulator can carry a fire pit's load and coordinate any tank work with your supplier. Sorting out which one feeds your property is the first thing we do, because it changes where the line starts and how we size it.
Newer builds, run it early
A lot of Candler is fast-growing new construction with basic builder-grade fireboxes indoors — and outside, the same logic applies to the gas: run the line while the patio is still being built. Trenching open ground before the concrete's poured beats reopening a finished space every time, and we'll leave a capped stub for the future fire feature. The Hominy Valley bowl tends to hold air, so a clean-burning sealed gas feature suits it well. We pull the Buncombe County permit, meet the inspector, and pressure-test the line — connecting gas or propane is licensed work no landscaper can legally do.
