My gas fireplace is 20+ years old and parts are discontinued — can it still be repaired, or is replacement smarter?

Propane parts, done right

LP burns hotter and runs at higher pressure than natural gas, so any substitute valve or burner has to be the propane-correct version, or it soots and wastes fuel. The good news is that many failed parts here still cross-reference cleanly, so a worn thermocouple, igniter, or blower is a small part and a visit, not a whole new fireplace.
Cane Creek Valley and the Garren Creek stretch are classic Fairview: wooded, spread out, and off the mains, so the propane detail isn't a footnote, it's the first thing we confirm on an older unit. Plenty of these homes already burn wood, too, so a wood-to-gas or gas-to-wood conversation fits naturally when an old unit reaches the end of the road.
When it's time, two doors open
If the broken piece is a discontinued proprietary module, Fairview's setting gives you options a subdivision doesn't.
