What size gas insert will fit my existing fireplace?
In Candler fuel splits by location: the growing Enka-Candler subdivisions reach the gas mains, while rural Hominy Valley and the Pisgah Highway lots are propane country. So the first fit question is fuel, and a propane insert needs the right orifice and pressure. Then it fits when its body clears your firebox's four interior measurements with clearances.
Gas in the subdivisions, propane out the valley
Candler is growing fast, and where the gas mains reach the Enka-Candler subdivisions an insert can run natural gas straight, but the rural Hominy Valley and Pisgah Highway properties are propane country, and an LP unit must be spec'd with the correct orifice and pressure or it will soot. We confirm your fuel before anything else, and connecting either one is licensed gas work we permit through Buncombe County and pressure-test.
Builder-grade boxes wanting real heat
A lot of Candler's newer homes came with a basic, decorative builder-grade firebox, and owners want the real heat-producing upgrade within a few years. An insert is exactly that, but it has to seat: we measure front width, rear width, height, and depth, and read the rating plate on a factory-built box to see which inserts are listed for it. The clean-burning sealed unit also suits the Hominy Valley bowl, where air quality matters.
Right up the road
Candler is 15 minutes west of the Emma Road showroom — practically our backyard, since Emma Road sits on the West Asheville side toward you — so a free in-home measure is easy to schedule and quick to complete. A surround frames whatever gap is left around the opening so the finished install looks intentional. Call (828) 545-0525.
