Where should an outdoor fireplace go in my backyard layout?

Brevard and the rest of Transylvania County sit in propane territory — the natural-gas mains that run under Asheville and Hendersonville don't reach out here — so a gas outdoor fireplace draws from a tank on the property. That makes tank location a real siting factor: the closer the fireplace lands to the tank, or to where a new line can run, the shorter and less costly the buried, outdoor-rated line. Cabins out toward Connestee Falls and Sherwood Forest are almost always on LP, and we set the appliance up for propane's hotter burn and different pressures so it doesn't soot.
Build for the rain
