Who makes SimpliFire electric fireplaces and are they good?
SimpliFire is made by Hearth & Home Technologies — the largest hearth manufacturer in North America and the parent of Heat & Glo, Heatilator, and Majestic, all lines we carry. That corporate backing makes SimpliFire a genuinely good, well-supported electric brand. In our showroom we display Dimplex for electric, but SimpliFire is a solid, dealer-grade option.
The company behind the brand
SimpliFire is Hearth & Home Technologies' dedicated electric line. HHT builds some of the most trusted names in the industry — we carry three of its gas brands, Heat & Glo, Heatilator, and Majestic — so SimpliFire benefits from serious engineering, quality control, and a parts pipeline that isn't going anywhere. For an electric fireplace, that stability matters more than people expect: you want to still be able to get a flame motor or a remote in five years, and an HHT brand delivers that.
Is it any good? Yes — with the usual electric caveats
SimpliFire's wall-mounts, inserts, and built-ins look sharp and run clean, with no gas line or venting required. But every electric fireplace, SimpliFire included, plays by the same rules: it's supplemental heat near 5,000 BTU for a space up to roughly 400 square feet, and it goes dark in a power outage. In WNC, where Helene knocked out power for days, we're honest that electric is ambiance and light warmth — not the backup heat a gas or wood appliance gives you.
What we'd put in your room
For electric, our showroom pick is Dimplex — its flame is the most convincing we've seen, and it's easy to stand behind. SimpliFire is a fine alternative if you want the HHT name.
