Why does propane cost more in winter, and can I lock in a price?
In Fletcher, the likely answer is that propane's winter price doesn't apply to you at all. Fletcher sits squarely on the natural-gas main in our fuel map, billed by a utility at a steady rate rather than the seasonal commodity swings propane sees. Only out toward the rural Cane Creek edges do you find tanks — and for those homes, yes, a supplier can lock the rate.
Firmly gas-main country
Of all the towns we serve, Fletcher is one of the clearest natural-gas cases — the I-26 corridor, the airport-area commercial strip, and the 1990s subdivisions were built on the gas grid. Natural gas comes from a regulated utility, so it doesn't lurch upward when the whole region fires its furnaces in December the way propane does. If there's no tank in your yard, the winter-propane-pricing worry simply isn't yours to carry.
Where the tanks still are
The exception is the rural edges — out around Cane Creek and the properties set back from the corridor, where the main doesn't reach and propane fills the gap. For those homes the seasonal story is the usual one: demand peaks in the cold months, supply and trucking tighten, and the fix is an off-season pre-buy, a capped contract, or budget billing from your supplier. The propane's price is theirs; connecting and tuning the appliance is ours.
Commercial and residential, same lane
Fletcher's mix of commercial and residential work is all our lane — a builder-grade subdivision fireplace, a linear gas unit in an office or a restaurant, an outdoor feature for a business. For a clean-face great-room look, a Heat & Glo anchor or a Napoleon Vector linear suits the newer builds here. Whatever the fuel, an efficient, well-tuned appliance burns less of it, and we size it, run and pressure-test the line, and pull the permit with Henderson County, twenty minutes south of the shop.
