Many Backgrounds. One Standard.

Why won't many fireplace dealers install units bought online?

Because installing someone else's online purchase means taking on all the risk with none of the support. We can't verify the unit is complete, undamaged, code-legal for your venting, or covered under warranty — and if it fails, the manufacturer points at the non-dealer seller, leaving us holding the callback. On a gas appliance, that gamble isn't worth it.

It's risk with none of the reward

When you bring us a fireplace you bought online, you're asking us to guarantee something we had no hand in choosing, sourcing, or protecting. We take on the full liability of a gas appliance — combustion, venting, clearances — while the manufacturer backing walks out the door because the sale didn't come through a dealer. There's no margin in it and all the exposure. Most established installers, us included, pass.

What we literally can't verify

We can't confirm the model is code-legal for your venting run, that every part shipped in the box, that the unit wasn't damaged in transit, or that the vent kit even matches. We don't know its warranty status. On a wood or gas hearth, 'close enough' isn't a standard we'll sign our name to — and our name is on the permit and the inspection.

The gas-appliance line we won't cross

In North Carolina the gas connection is licensed work anyway, so an online box still can't legally burn until a licensed contractor runs and pressure-tests the line and pulls the permit. At that point you're paying for our expertise on a unit that fights us at every turn. It's cleaner, safer, and usually cheaper in the end to buy and install as one job. Call (828) 545-0525.

The part that stings a year later

Say that online valve or ignition module fails on a cold night — with a dealer-sold unit, the manufacturer covers the part and we're set up to make the claim. With an orphaned online box, that support often isn't there, so you're paying full price for the part and the labor on a fireplace you thought you got a deal on. We'd rather steer you clear of that trap from day one. If you already own an online unit, call (828) 545-0525 and we'll give you an honest read on your options.
