Before we light anything we confirm the unit carries a live CSA or UL listing, that its orifice is set for natural gas, and — on a built-in — that the enclosure has the air openings and drainage it needs so moisture and gas can't collect. If the unit isn't right, we tell you before we connect it.

Running that gas line is licensed work in North Carolina — a mason can lay the stone surround and a delivery crew can drop the table, but the fuel connection, pressure test, and Buncombe County inspection are ours to finish and guarantee.
