Are fireplace installation estimates free?

New build or old downtown — we quote both

Weaverville is really two markets at once, and the free visit meets each on its own terms. In the new Reems Creek construction, we're often adding a clean, sealed gas fireplace to a room that was framed with one in mind — a fairly direct job. Downtown, the older homes tend to have inefficient original fireboxes that lose more heat than they give, and there the honest move is usually a sealed insert that turns that hole in the wall into a real warmer. We can't tell which conversation you're in without standing in the room, and standing in the room is free.

What the free visit locks down

Weaverville's north-facing valley is slow to warm in spring, so the heating season stretches a little longer than you'd guess — another reason to get the sizing right rather than eyeball it. On the assessment we pin down the appliance, the venting, any gas-line run off the natural-gas main, and the Buncombe County permit we pull and carry through inspection.

Licensed where it counts

One thing worth knowing before you compare bids: in North Carolina, connecting or extending a gas line is licensed work. A showroom or a general contractor can hand you a beautiful firebox, but they legally can't run fuel to it — we can, and we permit and pressure-test every line. That's part of what a Steady Flame quote actually buys you, and it costs nothing to hear it laid out.
