Can I buy a fireplace online and hire a local dealer to install it?

In Brevard, the answer is almost always no — we won't install a fireplace you ordered online. In a place that takes 80-plus inches of rain a year, the venting termination and moisture detailing are half the job, and a box shipped sight-unseen comes with none of that judgment. We'd rather sell, size, and install one unit we can fully stand behind.

Eighty inches of rain makes the install detail matter

Brevard's rainfall cracks crowns, spalls brick, and rusts dampers, and its crawl spaces and chimney chases are especially prone to moisture damage. Where a vent terminates, how it's flashed, and whether an old flue is even sound are decisions made on-site, not in a shopping cart. An online listing can't tell you the vent kit in the box suits your Transylvania County home — or that the unit will survive a wet chimney chase. That assessment is exactly what a local dealer does before a single part is ordered.

Cabins on propane, and the luxury look

Much of Brevard runs on propane — the downtown homes and the mountain cabins alike — and propane units need their own orifices and pressures to burn clean. For the timber-frame and mountain-modern homes around here, a hand-built Mendota FullView is the kind of centerpiece worth doing right; it isn't a box you gamble a warranty on. Order online and you can void manufacturer coverage before it's unpacked, then pay full price for any failed part down the road.

The gas connection is ours, wherever the box came from

In North Carolina, connecting or extending a gas line is licensed work — a mason or an online seller legally can't. We pull the Transylvania County permit, meet the inspector, and pressure-test every line. So even a unit you already own still needs a licensed gas contractor, and if you've inherited or already bought one, we'll inspect it honestly and quote the gas work either way. Call (828) 545-0525.
