Can I install a gas fireplace in a mobile or manufactured home?

Brevard sits in propane country, and yes — you can add a gas fireplace to a manufactured home here as long as the appliance itself is mobile-home (HUD) listed. We set it up for LP with the right orifices and pressure, detail the venting to shed our heavy rain, and pull the permit through Transylvania County.

Propane is the norm out here

Very few Brevard manufactured homes touch a natural-gas main — they run on a propane tank, and that's completely workable. The mobile-home-listed direct-vent unit we spec gets configured for LP so it burns clean and doesn't soot, and we coordinate the tank and regulator side with your propane supplier while we handle the appliance and the line. Propane also burns hotter per unit than natural gas, so the correct orifices and pressure aren't optional — they're the difference between a clean flame and a sooty one.

Where 80 inches of rain matters

Transylvania gets more rain than almost anywhere we serve, and on a manufactured home that means the wall or roof vent termination has to be sealed and flashed correctly or moisture works its way in around the penetration. We terminate with the listed components and detail the exterior so the wettest stretch — March through June — doesn't turn into a leak behind the wall. It's the kind of detail that separates a permitted install from a quick one.

The gas side is our licensed lane

In North Carolina, connecting that propane line is licensed contractor work — a showroom can sell you a firebox but legally can't fuel it. We pull the Transylvania County permit, pressure-test the line, and meet the inspector, so it holds up for your insurance and any future sale. From our Asheville showroom we're about 40 minutes southwest. Call (828) 545-0525 for a free assessment.
