Can my home's large propane tank feed an outdoor fire pit?

We check whether the tank, regulator, and existing line can carry the pit on top of everything running on a cold night, and whether it needs its own branch. Propane burns hotter per unit than natural gas, so the burner gets LP orifices and the correct pressure, or you get a lazy, sooty flame instead of a clean one.
One licensed company, permit pulled
Running or connecting gas is licensed work in North Carolina — no landscaper or handyman can legally make the connection, but we can.
