Can you run a natural gas line out to a patio for a fire pit?
Yes — and in Brevard that almost always means running the line off propane. This is LP country, so we tie the fire-pit feed into your existing propane system, size it for the burner, bury it outdoor-rated to the pit, and coordinate the tank side with your supplier. Then we permit it with Transylvania County and pressure-test the whole run.
Propane is the Brevard reality
Transylvania sits off the natural-gas grid for most properties — from downtown to the cabins at Connestee Falls and Sherwood Forest, homes run on LP. Propane burns hotter per unit and needs the right orifice and pressure, so the pit and regulator are matched to it for a full, even flame. Either fuel makes a great fire pit; here it's simply whatever already serves your home.
Rainfall that never quits
Brevard takes 80-plus inches of rain a year — among the wettest places we serve — and that water matters underground. The line is buried at proper depth in outdoor-rated pipe, and the key valve is set to shed weather. We also mind the moisture-prone crawl spaces and chimney chases where the line leaves the house, since those are the spots that give Transylvania homes trouble first.
The licensed piece nobody else can do
A hardscaper can build you a beautiful stone pit, but in North Carolina only a licensed gas contractor can legally connect it to LP. We size the line, tie it into your propane system, pull the Transylvania County permit, and prove the run with a pressure test before you ever hold a flame to it.
