Does high elevation affect how my gas fireplace burns?

Clyde's 1960s-80s ranch homes came with dated fireplaces, and at 2,612 feet they sit high enough that altitude genuinely factors into any gas upgrade. Swap a tired firebox for a sealed insert and the install is the moment to match the high-altitude orifice — otherwise a new unit set for lower ground can soot just like the old one did.
