How do I turn on the ember-bed accent lights on my linear gas fireplace?
On most linear gas fireplaces, the ember-bed and accent lights turn on from the remote or wall control — look for a light, LED, or accent button, usually separate from the flame control. Many let you set brightness or color too. On IntelliFire-equipped Heat & Glo and Majestic units, it's in the remote's lighting menu or the phone app.
Accent lighting is its own control
Modern linear fireplaces — think the Napoleon Vector, Heat & Glo Cosmo, or Majestic Meridian — layer in LED accent lighting under the glass media and behind the flame that runs independently of the burner. That's a real feature, not just a flame reflection: you can turn the ember bed or side glow on with the gas off for a soft nighttime look, or run both together for depth. Because it's a separate circuit, look for a dedicated button — labeled light, LED, accent, or ember — on your handset or wall panel rather than the flame up/down keys.
Setting color and brightness
On the higher-end linear units, the accent lighting isn't just on/off. IntelliFire Touch remotes and the companion apps on Heat & Glo, Heatilator, and Majestic units let you dial brightness up and down and, on some models, cycle through colors to match the crushed glass or the room. Step through the lighting menu and the strip updates live so you can land on the look you want. If your unit is app-controlled, the lighting sits alongside the flame and timer settings there.
If the lights won't come on
These LED strips run off the fireplace's control module, and they need power — most linear units plug into a nearby outlet for the lighting and blower, even on models whose ignition can fall back to battery power when the grid's down. So if the accent lights are dead, first check that the unit still has house power and the remote is paired with fresh batteries. If power's fine and they still won't light, the LED harness or the module may need a look. Call (828) 545-0525 and we'll diagnose it.
