How long are typical warranties on gas fireplaces, inserts, and stoves?
On the gas units we carry, the firebox and burner usually carry a limited lifetime warranty, with shorter terms — often a handful of years — on electronic parts like valves, ignition modules, and blowers. Wood stoves are similar on the steel or castings. Electric is shorter: Dimplex, for example, runs one year full and five years limited on the flame. Exact terms vary by brand and model.
Gas fireplaces and inserts
Nearly all the gas fireplaces and inserts we sell carry a limited lifetime warranty on the core — the firebox, burner, and heat exchanger — because those are the parts built to outlast the house. The moving and electronic pieces get shorter terms: valves, ignition modules, blowers, and gaskets are typically covered for a smaller number of years.
Glass and cosmetic parts are usually shortest, and normal wear items aren't covered at all. The exact years differ by brand — Napoleon, Heat & Glo, Kozy Heat, and the rest each write their own — so the booklet that comes with your unit is the authority.
Wood and pellet stoves
Wood-burning stoves and inserts follow a similar shape: long coverage on the heavy castings or steel firebox, shorter on components.
The things that wear — door gaskets, firebrick, baffles, and on catalytic models the combustor — are treated as maintenance consumables rather than warranty items, and you replace them on their own schedule. That's normal and not a defect.
Electric — and the guarantee we add
Electric runs shortest because it's electronics, not a combustion appliance. Dimplex, the electric line we carry, is a good example: one year full coverage and five years limited on the flame effect.
Across all fuels, remember there are two layers — the manufacturer's warranty on the product and our own workmanship guarantee on the installation. We don't invent terms beyond what each brand publishes; if you want the exact numbers on a specific model, call (828) 545-0525 or see it in the showroom.
