Is labor covered under a fireplace warranty?
Usually only briefly, if at all. Most manufacturer warranties cover parts — often a limited lifetime term on the firebox and shorter terms on electronics — but they cover the labor to install those parts for only the first year or two, and many not at all. That's why the installer matters: our own workmanship guarantee covers the labor we performed.
Parts and labor are two different promises
Read almost any hearth warranty and you'll find it split. The manufacturer warrants the components against defects — many of the gas units we carry hold a limited lifetime warranty on the firebox and burner, with shorter terms on valves, ignition modules, and blowers.
Labor is separate. Some brands include a year or two of labor coverage; plenty include none, leaving you to pay a technician to install the free part. Electric is its own animal — Dimplex, for example, runs one year full and five years limited on the flame. The specifics live in your unit's warranty booklet, which we hand you at install.
Where our workmanship guarantee fills the gap
Every install we do is backed by the manufacturer's warranty plus our own workmanship guarantee. That covers the quality of what we did — the venting, the gas connection, the fit — and it's the labor half of the equation manufacturers often leave out.
In the first year especially, most issues are covered on both fronts: the part by the brand, the labor by us. After that, a covered part might be free while the labor is quoted upfront — and hearth repairs are usually inexpensive parts and quick work, not a big bill.

This is the quiet argument against buying a firebox off a shelf and hiring labor separately. When the same licensed company sells, installs, registers, and later services the unit, the parts warranty and the labor guarantee sit under one roof — and there's no finger-pointing between a seller and an installer when something needs fixing.
