Cane Creek Valley, Garren Creek, and the lots off the Charlotte Highway corridor are propane and wood country — the natural-gas mains don't reach out here. That means the tank isn't optional; it's your fuel source, arranged with a supplier who owns and sets it if you lease. Leasing keeps upfront cost low with a small or waived annual fee tied to buying propane there; owning costs more but lets you shop per-gallon.

Your supplier sizes the tank to your whole appliance load. If a furnace or water heater already burns propane, a new fireplace often shares that tank with no second one needed.

Wood is popular here too, and that's fine

Plenty of Fairview homes heat with wood, and the wooded lots make it natural — just know creosote buildup is the leading chimney-fire cause without a fall sweep. If you're converting a wood fireplace to gas, that still needs the licensed propane line and a properly sized setup; on-site propane also gives you stored backup heat when a storm drops the power.
