Fairview's large wooded lots make wood heat natural, and stoves and inserts stay busy here — but wood means splitting, hauling, and fall chimney sweeps, since creosote buildup is the leading cause of chimney fires without them. An electric built-in is the low-effort counterpoint: flame at the flip of a switch, no woodpile, no creosote, no flue to sweep. What the install runs
The appliance is a few hundred dollars; the cost is the wall work — framing a recess, running a dedicated 1,500-watt circuit, and finishing back around the opening. On propane-country properties, electric has one nice advantage: no fuel line to extend indoors. Electrical isn't our trade, so we coordinate a licensed electrician for the circuit and run the carpentry and install ourselves, 15 minutes from our Emma Rd showroom.
Keep the wood stove for when it counts
