How much does it cost to set up propane for a fireplace if I don't have natural gas — tank, line, and all?

On the steepest lots we sometimes set the tank uphill or to the side and route the buried line up or across the slope to reach the hearth cleanly. Gorge draft and appliance choice
The French Broad gorge brings cool, damp evenings, and the tight mountainside lots can complicate chimney draft on an open fireplace. A sealed direct-vent LP unit sidesteps the draft problem entirely — it vents out a sidewall through a coaxial pipe, no chimney required, which is often the only clean path out of a narrow downtown building against the mountainside. Propane runs hotter per unit than natural gas, so the appliance is spec'd LP and dialed to burn clean.
Twenty-five minutes north
We're 25 minutes up the road from the showroom, close enough to make a site walk before the install worthwhile. Lease the tank for a low upfront cost, or buy it if you'll run more than one gas appliance.
