My fireplace brand went out of business — can I still get parts and service?
Usually yes. Arden's Royal Pines and Skyland neighborhoods went up in the 1980s and 90s, and the gas inserts added to those homes often wear a brand that's since disappeared. A discontinued nameplate almost never means a dead fireplace — the parts underneath came from suppliers that are still very much in business.
The 80s-and-90s vintage
Homes built through Arden's boom decades commonly had a gas insert dropped into an open masonry fireplace, and plenty of those manufacturers have since been bought or shut down. In the hearth trade that's ordinary — brands and tooling move to a successor company who keeps the parts coming — so we start with your model and serial to find out who backs the unit today rather than assuming it's orphaned.
Draft, heat, and a better option
Many of Arden's original open fireplaces are tired and drafty, pulling warm air out of the room and up the flue. The internal parts on an add-on insert — valve, thermocouple, igniter, blower — are standard and match current stock, so we can usually revive an orphaned unit inexpensively. But if the insert's genuinely done, a modern sealed insert commonly runs seventy percent efficient or better and turns that drafty opening into a real heater.
