Does Lennox still make fireplaces, and who supports Lennox Hearth units now?
Lennox no longer makes hearth products — the company exited the fireplace business around 2012 to focus on HVAC. Several of its hearth brands lived on: Superior and Astria continued under Innovative Hearth Products (IHP), which took over the former Lennox Hearth manufacturing. So parts and service for most Lennox-era units are still very much available.
What happened to Lennox Hearth
Lennox International is still very much around — it's a major HVAC company — but it wound down its hearth division back around 2012. The fireplace brands and tooling were reorganized, and Innovative Hearth Products emerged as the successor manufacturer for Superior and Astria.
For a lot of WNC homeowners, the Lennox name on an aging firebox sparks worry that turns out to be unfounded. We carry Superior in our Asheville showroom, so those units are a brand we know cold, and the successor line keeps much of the Lennox-era catalog serviceable.
Getting your Lennox-era unit serviced
If you've got a Lennox Hearth, Superior, or Astria fireplace in your Asheville-area home, you're in good shape. The functional parts — valve, ignition, blower, pilot — are standard and cross-reference, and IHP still supports much of the line.
Pull your model and serial off the rating plate and we'll confirm what's available. We service all major hearth brands regardless of whose name is on the badge now, and we do this weekly on older homes across the mountains.
Repair or replace?
Many Lennox-era prefab units are now well past 15 years old. If yours needs a common part, fixing it is usually inexpensive and worth it — a small part and quick labor, quoted upfront.
