Asheville sits at 2,134 feet in Buncombe County, and most of the city — Montford, North Asheville, West Asheville, out to the newer South Asheville subdivisions — is served by natural-gas mains. That makes the decision simple: a buried line from your gas meter feeds the pit all evening with nothing to swap out. The burner still has to match the fuel
Natural gas runs at lower pressure than propane, so the burner jets have to be sized for it specifically — feed a pit the wrong fuel and it burns lazy and sooty. If your particular street turns out to be off the main, we set you up on propane from a tank and build the burner for LP from the start. Either way, connecting a fire feature to fuel is licensed gas-piping work in North Carolina. A showroom or a hardscaper can sell you a handsome pan, but they legally can't make it burn — we can, we pull the Buncombe County permit, and we pressure-test the line first.
