What is the Heat & Glo Mezzo linear fireplace?
The Mezzo is Heat & Glo's line of modern, linear (wide-and-low) gas fireplaces — clean-face contemporary boxes that show a long ribbon of flame, offered in several widths so you can scale it to a wall. As a Heat & Glo dealer we can special-order the Mezzo; we also display the linear Cosmo 42, the same modern look you can see burning in person.
The linear look, explained
"Linear" just means the firebox is long and low instead of square — a wide ribbon of flame that reads as architecture more than a traditional hearth. The Mezzo is Heat & Glo's take on that style: a clean-face front with no louvers, glass media or driftwood options instead of a fake log stack, and a contemporary frame that suits open-plan mountain-modern homes.
It comes in a range of widths, so the fireplace can match the wall rather than the other way around.
Mezzo vs. the Cosmo we keep on the floor
We keep the Heat & Glo Cosmo 42 on our showroom floor — a 42-inch linear unit with a cool-wall design that lets you mount a TV above it — so you can see exactly how a Heat & Glo linear flame looks and heats before you commit. The Mezzo is a close cousin in a wider range of sizes.
If your wall calls for something longer, we'll spec and special-order the Mezzo for you. Either way you're getting Heat & Glo's premium flame picture and IntelliFire ignition. We'd rather show you both than talk you into a size that doesn't fit the room.
What a linear install involves in WNC
Linear fireplaces are almost always direct-vent — sealed combustion, coaxial pipe out a sidewall or up through the roof, no chimney required — which makes them the go-to for adding a modern fireplace to a room that never had one. The variables that drive your cost are the venting run, how far we extend the gas line, and the wall finish.
